screwysquirrel Buoyed by his participation to the recent Salinas album, the multi-tasking wiz has reverted to the hyperdynamic jangling sound of one of his career high watermarks, Senpai’s “Sun And Sea Made You Blonder”, even if some of the ominous lyrical tone of his previous release “The Mountain” remains (cue early lockdown anthem “The Toll” and “Cassandra”). This album will bring some much-needed rays of sunshine into your life without the need of denting a hole in the ozone layer. Favorite track: I'm Leaving School.

What if we’re waves Expanding waves Collapsing when they look at us What if we’re free To be like seas Once we are dead and out of reach What if we’re waves On Ockham’s blade Or double-slit experiments What if we’re quarks As time-space sparks And interference patterns rise So superposition is what I get Whenever I can stay all day in bed Tripping at the speed of light and slowly close my eyes close my eyes close my eyes As if I’m dying We can be together if you want to Entagled as particles me and you Tripping at the speed of light and slowly Close our eyes Close our eyes Close our eyes As if we’re dying What if we’re waves On Ockham’s blade Or double-slit experiments What if we’re quarks As time-space sparks And interference patterns rise What if we’re waves Expanding waves Collapsing when they look at us What if we’re free To be like seas Once we are dead and out of reach

The Toll 03:34
What’s the point of being myself or you? I might even state a preference Though I can’t say what’s the difference When we sleep or climb the Everest What’s the point of reading all the news? When it’s clear there is no evidence Well, let’s say we have some interests And we can claim to be so provident Things that you want to see You’re gonna hear the toll Lands where you want to be You’re gonna pay the toll Stuff that you want to do One day you’ll rest in peace for sure What’s the thing you’re grabbing with your hand? Is it something you got or made up? Is it something that you need to live? Is it something you don’t want to give? Airplanes crashed down by computers Virus spreads into the future Boats are sinking, bridges falling Where am I when you are calling?

Cassandra 04:02
She’s lying in an empty tub The cold ceramic feels like mud Her mind sucked in down the drain hole Her skin worn out like a boot’s sole She says we can’t escape our fate No matter how hard we’ll debate She brings a billion human bones They all have been killed by the drones Cassandra is frantic She’s crying out loud in tears The bombs will be falling That’s pretty much crystal clear We can’t even start To make up our mind If we don’t realise Cassandra is right Cassandra is right Cassandra is right She stands like an old dying tree Spreading blooms of what will be Poisoned flowers in her hands Skrawny roots in the sand She says we can’t escape our fate (oh, no no no) No matter how hard we’ll debate (all night long) She brings a billion human bones (yes, human bones) They all have been killed by the drones Cassandra is warning She’s walking out in the fog The winter will catch you In bed with your wicked dogs We can’t even start To make up our mind If we don’t realise Cassandra is right Cassandra is right Cassandra is right Cassandra is right And Earth is not flat As simple as that Moon landing was real With which you must deal And not everyone lies But pigs never fly And Cassandra is right Cassandra is right Cassandra is right!

When she was a child To play was scary time No matter what it was No need for a good cause to be that way In the summer sun In early afternoon Nobody was around except This girl in a playground No way to choose a place to stay She seemed abandoned there A lovely pup with dirty hands blue eyes and light blonde hair She didn’t speak our language ‘cause She was from far away That seemed a decent reason for Our laughter to take place What do you do here, go back home! We seem to hear you parents call! I don’t know if you have a bike But you should get one for a ride What do you do here, on the ground? Are you aware of certain bounds? In your blue eyes a question mark No answer in our dull remarks But she didn’t go away As we had initially thought As if a karmic bungee cord Was pulling back and forth She cried and laughed at the same time What a scary scene! I can’t say if that happened really Or it’s a guilty dream Love on Petra Love on Petra oh! And when I think of Petra and I wonder where she’s now I ask myself if she remembers Of that playground In a foreign country where nobody showed her love I guess it is no use but I do want to show it now Love on Petra Love on Petra oh!

Ad Nauseam 04:04
I dreamt of a secret garden where the people gather at night I dreamt of a taboo banquet with old friends I lost over time I dreamt of you playing piano in your cozy attic downtown I was walking in the street and Chopin said to me: stay around I never rang at your door You never gave me a hint I wonder if we can match But I’m afraid of those lies Met someone from my school days we were making plans to get by Hey, we should write a song now, come down in my basement, let’s try Lost in a empty village, people stay at home playing war games I know she is waiting upstairs, I stay in the doorway – it rains They’re gonna come and get me They’re storming to arrest me I’m trying to stay awake But damn, I’m missing your smile I can’t walk through my door I can’t walk on my own ThinkPol waiting outside For me dead or alive So I stay in my bed I’m free to fantasize Ad-lib ad nauseam Ad-lib ad nauseam

Anna 03:38
Anna, Please make up some rules Anna, For my solitude We should better hide from your boyfriend We should better find some secret land You don’t have to smile that way at me When we are in public, they could see Anna, Bringing endorphins Anna, Almost heroin Anna, Making love to me Anna, In my fantasy You say it’s all clear, it’s understood I thought that my hints were not too good You say this is real and you like it too I thought it was me who played the fool Anna Naked in my arms Anna Owner of all charms Anna Running in my veins Anna Shelter from the rain Anna Please, would you teach me how to be your friend? Anna Can I stay here and be part of this blend Would you start a fire? And fill me with desire? Are you up to dive?

How I’d like to be asleep When the hours sink so deep Into the afternoon Hear the whispers of the walls The creaking of the doors And the rumble of the sea Hey, your message came too late And we must push back our date Let’s say it could be next week How can I stop this queasiness Eating junk food nonetheless In a Sunday afternoon Sunday ghosts yelling As I cannot speak Sunday ghosts haunting As I can’t even think Now that the people aren’t aware How about a breath of air And a walk around the park? Skipping the football on tv Chasing shadows from the trees Till the shadows swallow me Sunday ghosts yelling As I cannot speak Sunday ghosts haunting As I can’t even think What are you looking for? The same old tiger in the park? A bit of a jigsaw worn out by the waiting? The white rook from your old chess pieces That fell from your pocket thirty years ago While you were fornicating? Sunday ghosts yelling As I cannot speak Sunday ghosts haunting As I can’t even think

Karl 03:30
My Karl is Popper Your Karl is Marx You say sunshine of future I say a torch in the dark And while we’re struggling to find the point Your fascist cousins are allowed to keep going My Karl is Popper Your Karl is Marx You say class conflict I say human rights All your predictions are falling apart There’ll be no revolution unless it's far-right My Karl is Popper Your Karl is Marx You come from Hegel I’ve got Socrates heart You call the individual selfish and wretch I call the individual a minority edge You see, there is no truth Just things you can disprove You saw them, you saw them! My friend, whaddya like best? Dissidents under arrest? They’re still there, you saw them! Do you hear national anthems play? You hear them! Yes, you hear them! Would you reduce all our freedoms space? You’re joining the wrong array! My Karl is Popper Your Karl is Marx We should stand for progress But we’re losing the fight ‘Cause while we’re arguing ‘bout finding a way The fascists are back and now they want to stay

In the summer sunshine She appeared to say “hi” So I had to think of her But I sensed a goodbye She has things to do now Swimming in the big sky Gonna meet somebody else You don’t know the flip side I still work so hard to please her But she always turns me down As I think she must be flattered Then realise she wears a frown In the summer midday Moving out of this place Then I had to wait for her ‘Cause I lost her half-way Every time somebody calls me I expect bad news from her As I try to be prepared To be driven to dispair Waking up at midnight Hoping for her bright sight In the pitch-dark open air Searching in my pockets I just find a lighter I forgot the cigarettes Where are you, my old friend? Am I in a dead end? Can I see you one more time? Will I cross the vacuum And put into my room The Sea of Tranquility?

I'm leaving school the neon lights In the classroom cause me fright I'm skipping class the new school mates Wear the undertaker's face Someone says it's unbelievable Last year's fail was not predictable I'm leaving school I have enough To be looked down upon so rough I'm skipping class I feel so sick I'm such a drag they think I'm thick Someone says it takes a little time To get back and stand again in line In the morning sitting in a café bar Watching outside drowning in my black mood jar And dreaming on and on Teachers teaching shit me Teasing tearing words from my sleep Take the history book now Looks like it's a thousand pages I will never catch up I will never ever make it Middle Ages are dark But so vast and full of phases Then so long goodbye farewell I go snail inside my shell In the evening fallen asleep on a book Proudly lazy, committed to not take a look And dreaming on and on I'm leaving school I think of you Stupid people in the queue I'm leaving school I hate you all Kiss my arse and fuck my soul
