I still work so hard to please her
But she always turns me down
As I think she must be flattered

Moving out of this place

Every time somebody calls me
I expect bad news from her
As I try to be prepared
To be driven to dispair

Waking up at midnight
Hoping for her bright sight
In the pitch-dark open air
Searching in my pockets
I just find a lighter
I forgot the cigarettes
Where are you, my old friend?
Am I in a dead end?
Can I see you one more time?
Will I cross the vacuum
And put into my room
